I received a package out of the blue today from HRRH with questionaires and orientation date of Nov 17, 2014 I wasn't expecting it because My Dr sent referral July 3 but never received confirmation that it was received. Both my Dr and I tried to get confirmation via email and phone...but guess sometimes it's best just to trust the process and wait...Looking forward to the first step.

Thanks Karen, now I better not chicken out before the orientation date like I did in 2012. My hubby is nervous about it and so am I, but it is impossible to make an informed decision without going through the process.

You are absolutely right about that. Going to the orientation isn't a commitment to surgery, it's simply assisting you in making an informed decision.

You are so lucky. Congratulations.  I have been trying for almost a year to get any news back.

No chickening out this time around. Going to the orientation is not committing to anything. Just to hearing about your options, and that isn't a hard thing to do. It's just a class to give you the information you need to then make a decision as to whether surgery may be the right course of action for you.

Take a friend or family member to the orientation with you. That really helps.

And like you, my doctor never received any confirmation that the referral was ever received... but I got a package from my centre with an orientation date and questionnaires to bring with me to the orientation. Trust the process. It DOES work assuming all the steps are completed correctly.
