open surgery

Hey all now that its all official and like that I was wondering a couple more things;
first off did anyone have this done open surgery not laproscopic
second anyone here have it done with (ventral/abdominal) hernia repair
how did it go and how are you doing?

Sorry, but no. I did have a hiatial hernia repair with my VSG, but it was all lap. Best of luck.

 Hi there!  I did not have it done open, but I did hear that the recovery is longer if it's done open.  Also no hernia repair for me, but I hope you get your answers.  =)

I would interested to read these too. I am scheduled to have a lap surgery but they may have to convert to open if there is too much scar tissue from previous surgeries.

I thought I might need an open sugery also. I had 4 open abdominal surgeries previously, but my doc did my VSG laproscopically and my recovery was very quick. Follow the presurgical diet so your liver will not be fatty to help the surgeon and you!!
