Hey
I had my phyc evaluation and now everything is being submitted to insurance early next week. What has been your experience with how long it takes to get aproved (or not). I have follwed there rules and have gotten everything done and have been on the journey since febuary as they require 6 months of certain continuious things. I have cigna so if any one can speak specific to that or just tell me your experience in general that would be awsome.

Hi,  I am in the same place as you.  My information was just submitted to Cigna for approval.  The nurse at my surgeons office said Cigna is usually pretty responsive and it only takes a week or so.  I am hoping she is correct!  Good luck!  Maybe we will end up with the same surgery date.

I'm not sure when i will have it i figured some where between mid sept and early oct just depending  on how fast i can clear my schedule. Do you have a date in mind you are shooting for? and have you picked  vsg already?  I wish you the best of luck and hope your aproval goes smooth

I am hoping for the second week in October.  That would be the best for me work wise.  I wish you the best of luck also!  I have decided on VSG.  I have researched other options and just think it is the best for me.  How about you?  Did you decide on the VSG?

I am not 100% desided we saw the surgeon last week and its between the vsg and the r-n-y. I am leaning toward the sleve but there are people who say its worked great for both types  and just want to make the best choice so i am still wishy washy.

I kept calling my insurance every day. I think it took less than a week. Then I made my insurance fax my approval letter to the doctor immediately. I wasn't going to wait for the mail or lazy insurance specialist to do her job properly. Sure I was a pest, but I don't care. I waited close to 7 months to go through all the insurance hoops, and I was not gonna wait much longer or I would go insane. Definately Call, call, call, Thats my advice.

I have Cigna and my information was submitted on August 2nd, I called that afternoon to make sure they received it and then I called daily.  I got a phone call and email from my surgeon's office on August 5th, telling me I was approved. So for me a total of like 3 days and then approval.  I hope you get a quick response.

My doctors office told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks to be approved by Cigna and I was approved in about a week and 1/2 half.
