Whats normal anyway?

So i had my 3 week out surgeon visit this past week (on wed) and was down 20.5 lbs and feeling really good except this pain on my right side which she says is normal and that my numbers look good and yada yada yada and shell see me at my 6 month visit, unless i need to see her. Is that the standard i see people here that see the surgeon every few weeks or every month should i be worried?

I am really grateful this is working and hoping it continues

I don't believe I will be seeing my surgeon for about 4 - 6 months unless I need to as well.  However, I do have appointments with the PA, dietician, and nutritionist rotating every month.  I think this is just so that they can keep tabs on me and make sure everything is going smoothly.

Post op appointments were a topic the other day. Here is a link to the post. You'll see every surgeon has a different protocol, but yes, your doc's seem to be far fewer visits than others.

Normal is a setting on the dryer! I didn't make that up.

"Typical" surgeon visit spacing is two weeks/six weeks/three mos/six mos/year

Yeah it varies from doctor to doctor. For me I had a 1 week check up (to remove the drain), 2 week, then 1 month, then 3 month, then 6 month, and just had my 9 month post op check up a week ago.  And then I don't see him until my 1 year.  After that I have no clue lol But as long as they see you are progressing nicely and aren't having any complications its no biggie if your schduled visits are farther between.

Congrats on your sucess so far!

I have an appointment with my surgeon this Monday 11-07-11. He likes to follow up, & I think every month after that for a while.

I had a 5 day follow up to remove drain, then the next was at month 2, 5, 8 and at one year. But they take your calls really quickly, and wil see you if you are uncomfortable or have a problem.

1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month & 1 year.  I had an additional visit at 9 months with the exercise physiologist because I missed him at 6 months.
