Nice vote of confidence for surgeon I'm meeting

Yesterday I went to the gastroenterologist for a consult before scheduling an upper endoscopy (for the stomach pains that led me to start thinking differently about my weight and eventually to this website!)  I mentioned that I was reading into WLS and asked if the endoscopy I needed would also cover any pre-op requirements (which it will) but then he wanted to know which surgeons I was looking at.  I mentioned one I don't know much about who is doing a free seminar (and he shook his head) and then I mentioned Dr. Fares, with whom I have an appointment next week and the doc nodded his head and said that Dr. Fares has been doing bariatric surgeries a long time around here and he knew someone who'd had surgery with him.  I had read some good things about the surgeon on this site, but getting that response made me feel even better about the appointment coming up.
