unrelenting pain in upper back, what gives?

I do so want to enjoy my 14 day old sleeve.  But ever since surgery I have had a humongous pain in upper left shoulder back.  After I was able to eat yogurt, that went away, replaced by upper back and a little left side ache when I eat (2 teaspoons) or drink.  Anyone know what it could be and when it will go away?  Pain level is about a 5 or a 6 and I really don't want to take pain meds.
Thank you friends.

Pain level that high = call the doctor!  It could be residual gas, or acid reflux radiating pain to your shoulder (I had that preop).

Also - I was still taking pain meds 2 weeks postop, but just a fraction of the dosage so I could work.

You are still healing internally & that pain can radiate.  For me, I get stiff and don't move around like I should.  Take care & feel better soon!
