Got my drain out - Woo Hoo - General progress notes
Got the pain in the rear drain out yesterday. Took off the gauze bandage the surgeon put on it and a put on a bandaid this morning.
Really nice to take a shower without having to work around the plastic cover taped to my entire right side of the abdomen.
My pre-op appt was 11/21 and surgery was 12/5.
Yesterdays visit showed me down 18 lbs since pre/op and 3 down since surgery.

The surgeon told me before surgery that she leaves them in for a week.
It was kinda cool to watch the drainage change from blood colored to serum (yellowish clear discharge)
She told me though if anything came out looking like something I ate or drank to immediately call. That statement kinda had me wondering but all is good.
Looks like you have about a month before your surgery...Good luck and lose as much as you can pre-op, makes a big difference in recovery times from what I have heard and my surgeon says.
