Did anyone else here think they might chicken out before surgery? Mine is still about 2 1/2 months away, and it almost seems surreal that in less than 3 months I will have had this done. I usually get very panic stricken before surgeries...

How do you cope with pre-surgery jitters?

Haha!

I really am not in a hurry to rush into that three weeks of liquids... but I just don't want to chicken out.  Maybe I'm thinking about this too much...

Ha!

I thought I'd chicken out right at the last minute!

The surgeon came up to my bed to take me into the OR, and asked if I was ready.  I was so nervous... I asked him if anyone of his previous patients had bailed at this point, right before walking to the OR.  He said, "Nope, but you can be the first one!"

I laughed.

Dont chicken out now  you are about to embark on the best jouney of your life!!!!!!! I was very high risk but came through fine and have not looked back since!!!!! Keep your head up and imagine what is ahead of you.........not the weeks of liquids but the weeks of stepping on the scale and watching those numbers go down and down and down!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! You guys are right... and besides, I can't back out now. I just spent $1100 on airline tickets for myself and my husband!

after 35 years of diet fail, once i decided that this is what needed to be done, there was no hesitation, no doubt in my mind....  when i was taken into the OR, my last words were "let's do it!"....

See, that's how I know it's time for me too.  It's like I woke up on January 2nd and just decided that this was what I needed to do!  Granted, I have watched my husband's progress with his sleeve over the last year and done plenty of my own research, so it wasn't a choice made lightly.  But it just fit into place somehow.

I know I'm making the right decision.  I just hate having surgery.

For me, this is the first time I had been in the hospital execpt ER or as a visitor since I was born 50+ years ago.

I was up and down like a YoYo... stuck with it and 60 plus pounds later, it was the best weight loss decision I've ever made.
