Ok, so I had my 5 month check up today, and I am down a whopping 38lbs since surgery, yes you heard correctly. I am the ultimate slow loser. They did every test in the book and all is well, but I'm just super super carb sensitive. I've begun C25K, I'm in my second week. I work out 5 days a week minimally, keep my carbs under 40 calories right around 800 and get between 85-100 grams of protein a day normally. I brought my Diary today to the NUT to examine from myfitnesspal.com... Anyway she suggested I try to follow the Southbeach plan for a month...SHe swears she thinks it will help, but another DIET???????????? Thought I was done with that!

Anyway, does anyone have an opiniion on doing southbeach while sleeved? I honestly do work my tool and hesitate to post because i'm definitely the exception to the rule, and don't want to discourage newbies, because I am just a slow loser, and always have been. I'm disapointed in my slow losses, but not discouraged, as I am down 38 lbs forever in 5 months. Do I wi**** was more...OF COURSE but am I proud of my 38 lbs and my decision to change my life??? ABSOLUTELY.

I'd just really really appreciate some feedback and encouragement if anyone can spare it...
Thanks OH Family.

Ok I'm not sleeved but I am a professional dieter (like all of us!) South Beach is a good way to eat, it's basically a modified Atkins diet high protein but lower fat than Atkins. It's a basically good diet for all of us. Don't look at it as a diet but as an eating plan that meshes well with your basic sleeve eating plan. Sounds like you are doing a good job so far!

I know nothing of the South Beach diet, BUT

I would like to point out in BIG BOLD LETTERS: YOU have lost 37.5% of your excess weight in 5 months ! ! ! I  You're over 1/3 of the way to goal.

DO NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! ! !

If I were to compare the way I eat now to any diet, it would be to South Beach.  South Beach is a healthy way to eat -- lean proteins, healthy fats, veggies, and a little bit of fruit and wholegrain carbs.  It's probably the healthiest diet/lifestyle there is.

I'm down 43 lbs. The scale doesn't move for 3 weeks. So you're not alone. Let's hope for the best.
As for South Beach Diet I don't see how is it diffrent from what we're eating post-op.
