5 weeks is about normal.  1 week liquids, week 2, full liquids, 3 purees, 4 mushies, 5 soft food.  I think i waited until i was released on full diet which was week 6. Careful of sodium because you will probably have problems getting your minimum fluids for awhile and that will just acerbate it.

I did tuna pretty quick but chicken wasn't until about 4 weeks or a little more.

I guess my doc is a bit faster than some.  I had a day of clears at the hospital.  Home for 2 weeks on full liquids.  I'm now on my 4 weeks of soft meats (no veg, no carbs).  Then its clear for anything within reason.

My diet is like yours. Clears in the hospital, full liquids for two weeks, two weeks pureed, two weeks soft foods and then I can start to eat regular food. I started pureed this week. I think I can have tuna now. I can have chicken and stuff if it is like baby food. This sounds nasty but, mixed in soup or heated on sweet potato mash is good.

I was told soft food starting week 2 and it included canned tuna and canned chicken.  I will say I'm just starting week 6 and not all meats work well for me...depends on the meat and the day.  Hard/overcooked meat is right out for certain.

I was two weeks clear, two weeks full liquids, then soft.  After all that, as I started to return to real food, shrimp, crab, and rare beef worked great.  I am still finding the the less cooked something is the better it goes down.  Sashimi and sushi are regulars.  I also make my protein shakes with raw eggs.  Each one adds seven grams of protein.
