Vit D defficiency
VSG on 02/20/17
I'm vitamin D deficient too. My psychiatrist wants it in the 50's but my physician is fine where it is. I take a ton of Vitamin D because I live in Minnesota and I avoid the sun like the plague. (I definitely won't be getting skin cancer).
I had aching joints and it hurt even if someone hugged me.
They thought I might have fibromyalga , but a ruhmetologist found it to bee vit. D deficiency.
I take OTC now , but did the 50,000 units for quite awhile at first.
They say this is usually why old peple feel so bad . they are usually VERY low in Vit. D.

Well at the time I didn't know what was wrong with me. My bones would ache and I couldn't lose 1 pound no matter what I did. Actually gained 6 lbs, but now being on the supplement I have lost those 6lbs. Looking back I had headaches, fatigue, restless sleep, constipation and just feeling blah.....along with the weight gain and sweet cravings which were very hard to fight. Vit D is now my best friend.
This is great to know, I just got the call that I was D deficient as well. Today will be the first day of the 50,000.... I have every thing you said, besides headaches!
Living in the pacific northwest, we get NO sun! I'm hoping this may help with the constipation, sleep, and pains!

I think this is very very common. When I had my pre op blood work done I found out that I had GREAT vitamin D levels and the doctor was actually shocked.
They said they hardly ever see that in pre op patients. I have an outdoor job so I think that contributes greatly (although I currently work swing/grave so I am more of a night owl right now).
I am anxious to see how my labs look at six months.
