I have been starving all day! I am 7 months out and pretty much have never been really hungry but today my stomach growled all day today. It is freaking me out - I am afraid that I didn't learn the right tools to deal with hunger. Ugh - I did not this day to come.

it's not gerd or gas?  just wondering, I'm 4 months out tomorrow and am not looking forward to hunger either. I'm also thinking that regardless of how hungry we get, just physiologically we won't be able to take in very much.

Have you eaten?

I am still on a PPI so I don't think it is gerd

I have eaten tried to eat protein and add some veggies in to bulk it up a bit but honestly I did have some chocolate and some other not so good choices because my tummy was grumbling

I'm almost 7 months out, too. I do get hungry and have those rumbly tummy days. Worst thing I found is to nibble (like your bite of chocolate, etc....) Best thing for me is to sit down to a protein meal. I will add a 2.0 to 2.5 ounce meal of chicken breast to stop the hunger and that keeps me going for hours. It's also only 60-75 calories and is good for me. Give that a try and see if it works.

Have you tried drinking?  Staying well hydrated can help alleviate hunger.

Cardio sometimes help with grazing cravings for me...  45 min and I am good.. plus water or green tea...

Carb cravings feel exactly the same as hunger for me. Have you drastically increased your carbs? It's amazing to me that it only takes one time of eating more carbs for the carb cravings (stomach growling) to come back.

Hey there remember me your neighbor?  I got a link for you to view about hunger after VSG.  Dr Alvarez famous Mexican doctors that's done 3,000 VSG surgeries explains inital hunger after the sleeve in some patients.  That's not you probably but at the end of the video clip he actually say you can randomly get hunger infrequently but it should pass.  HTH.  By the way I got tenative surgery sceduled with Dr Bonanni for November 5th.  Take care.

Here's DR A's link.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkZudte6J0
