Can you recommend shakes or protein powders that are lactose free?  I'm seriously struggling...

I was having issues with that and I switched to almond milk with my regular powder and I haven't had problems since.

You need to look for a protein drink/powder that is 100% whey protein isolate, which is the more expensive form of whey protein, but is also lactose free. Many of the whey protein products on the market are a blend of isolate and cheaper non-isolated whey proteins. Then, you can use either lactaid lactose free milk or the almond or soy milks, or take a lactaid tablet before having the dairy products.

Good luck,

I use 100% Egg Protein from the Vitamin Shoppe. If I double scoop my shake I'm getting 48g of protein at a time. Make them with water and 1/2 banana, only half as they are high in carbs, or alomond milk.

PlantFusion Protein Powder is Lactose Free. It is also soy free, gluten free, dairy free and vegan. I get it on Amazon. I like all the flavors, but chocolate is the best. It is also sweetened with Stevia, so more natural. I love it and still drink one every morning. If you like the really sweet pre-made milk proteins, you will probably not like this. It is definitely more bland than some others.

1 Serving has 21 grams of protein and 120 calories. Mixes with water or milk substitute.

With that said, some people feel plant protein is less digestible. Not sure what the studies prove or not. But I feel fabulous when I drink them and when I miss one or cannot drink the whole one, my energy level goes down. I also can drink one from 8-10 and not want anything else until after noon. So I do feel the protein holds me over to lunch.
