NSV? Or at least a potential NSV

I haven't been feeling well for the past week or so. Not ill, just more tired than I should be, lightheaded and woozy-shaky when I do much of anything. A light finally went on yesterday and I checked my BP - 99/60. Yep, that'd do it! I didn't take my usual BP med last night - I was up to 104/63 this morning.

I called my Dr, and after I'd had to ask the girl what time walk-in starts for the third time she said,"I can squeeze you in at 9:10 - can you get here by then?"

He got 110/70 and said to stay off my BP med for the moment, record my reading twice a day and see him next Tuesday - and BTW - get this blood work done this week.

If my BP comes up to something reasonably normal and stays there - no more BP meds. So here's hoping!

Oh ya - no swimming or walking beyond puttering around the house until I can do it without feeling like I'm about to fall over.

Woohoo! Isn't that grand? I loved getting off both my BP and cholesterol meds.

Your body does sometimes go through an adjustment. Hopefully now that you're off the meds it'll settle in with the new blood pressure soon.

If I get to say goodbye to the Micardis the Crestor will be the next drug I want off of. I'm already off my pain meds.

I was never on BP meds, my BP was always in normal range. However, the last few times I have checked it I was 92/65 within +1 or 2.  I asked about it being so low and was told that it was still in normal range but if I was feeling weak or tired or dizzy to get it checked out. Also to try and up my sodium intake but drinking a cup of chicken soup (not low salt).  I have a physical in Sept so I will jus****ch it till then. Hope you can stay off you BP meds, what a great NSV

Broth sounds like a good idea. Partly because hot fluids go down WAY easier than any other temp and partly because my sodium intake is pretty low. I don't salt my food or eat much processed anything, so my intake is generally about 1/4 of the recommended limit.

Other than the wooziness I'm doing ok. Not losing as quickly as I'd like of course, but who does? I've pretty much just settled in for the long run - I'll stick with the diet I was given and trust it to take me where I'm supposed to be.
I don't do as well with fluids as I should, but this episode has taught me something. Since hot drinks go down better and faster than cold and I really don't need to worry about sodium, I'm adding a couple of mugs of broth to my daily regimen. That'll fill in the gap between what I've been managing and what I should be getting in.
Now to wait for the micardis to get out of my system. I'm still at a rather limp 107/64.
