I am on week 4 post op and have never felt just the same since surgery. Does the stomach ever start feeling the same again sometime? I miss the cold drinking and gulping. And I also miss the feeling I had with it. Anyone else feel this way?

I feel really empty.... espcially in the am.... I can drink cold but not like frozen but warm defianlty feels way better...........   I still cant tell when I am full yet untill I am burping then I stop but that is usually too much then .......   the only thing that doesnt bother me is soup and I am super tired of that.... but maybe for the winter time I will do them again.    I am going on 3 weeks .,....

Yes, it gets much easier to eat everything in sight, drink like you could before surgery and feel no pain.  Enjoy the few more months you have of "discomfort", if you are maximizing the weight loss, you are going to miss these first six months later on.  On a serious note, the answer to you question is that it does get much better after about the sixth month.  Water will no longer hurt and you will feel pretty much like you were before surgery, just with a smaller capacity.

Thanks Elina! My friends get surprised that I get full on so little. The soft food is driving me crazy but 18 more days and I am moving up! I do hope to get my liquids in more and the protein so I can start losing again. I know that is keeping the scale where it is. This is truely a journey that is making me rediscover who I am. I just cant wait to feel normal again..

It does get much better.  You feel weird for the first few months, but then little by little you do get so you can do most of what you did.  The slimies don't go away though - I learned that the hard way last week lol!

Thank you for the reassurance. It is a little sad to me when I look at others eating and I am still on soft food for another 18 days. But every day is an adventure. I tried to push my tummy out like the old days and surprise it didn't  really move. I just feel weird in that area. I guess knowing what happened and still healing does that.

You had 85% of your stomach removed - it will take a little time for your mind and your body to catch up to that. Your normal and it will get better and the weight loss will make everything so worth it!
