I swim several mornings a week - doing laps for an hour. I also run when I can. I was feel pretty smug about my fitness and then took my first Pilates mat class this week.
Um. Yeah. Stay Puft Marshmallow middle is me.
I'll be back for more torture next week though, because I can!
BTW - while I was waiting for the teacher I was listening to a song on my Walkman and dancing in the studio, totally not caring who saw me. I feel like I've gotten a level of silly joy back into me.
I am a like a cult member when it comes to Pilates. My surgeon said, "well, since you're *only* doing Pilates..." like I was taking a stroll around the block 3 times a week and calling it exercise. I almost throttled him.
Mat is where it's at. I do one reformer class a week, two mat classes. I want to retire so I can do it more! I'm bad about doing things like that on my own, so thank goodness for classes!
