Hey there Sleevers

Just wanted to share my latest.  I recently had blood work completed as well as a new Metobolic test.  My blood work came back all good except my protein levels were very low.  14%.  Went over eating with Doctor and was informed that I was not eating enough calories.  I was sticking to 800-850.  I exercise every day (some form of Cardio for 40 minutes every morning)My net calories a day were around 400.    My metobolic test said that I will loose weight 1384-1700 calories.  I have to admit I would go through stalls for weeks on end.  And then I would see a small drop 1-2 lbs.  Since I have upped my calories to 1000-1100 I have lost 2 lbs in three days.  I was also told that everyone's metabolism is different and can consume calories differently.  While I was in the Dr.s office I met a lady there and she had the sleeve 6 years ago.  She looked fabulous.  She lost 120 lbs in 8 months and she too exercised everyday and she told me when she was loosing she ate between 1000-1700 per day.  Just wanted to share. Again everyone is different.

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!

How much protein are you consuming? And how does that relate to both your low protein level and weight loss?

I was consuming between 85-100 grams of protein a day.  But because of my  current metabolism and I am assuming exercise my body was burning it off.  We shall see.  I am not saying this is the gospel but I am certainly listening to my Doctor right now and doing what they say.

I think its great if you find your sweet spot for weight loss and calories in good balance. Tell me more about the metabolic test. What did that consist of? If there was a scientific way of determining exactly at what calorie consumption one would lose weight, it would really interest me.

Its a machine that is in my Bariatric surgeons office.  You put this pinch thing on your nose and a tube goes into your mouth and you do not breath any air but only what is  in the tube of the machine.  The machine registers your caloric burn and metabolic rate.

Good for you it is scary for us up calories but someone explained it to me like this as I was very much like you in the losing dept until a much wiser vsgers  said this think your body like a campfire and food are the logs if you keep feeding the fire just enough it will continue to burn like your metabolism too much and you smother the fire out not enough the fire slows down and stops burning made sense to me - whatever works for you is all that is important best wishes to you
