Brand new symptoms

Hello its been a minute since I've been on here. I had my vgs in April 2011and then had a panniculectomy in Nov 12. Up until my last surgery I was feeling fine and now for the last 2 months I have been having the worst nausea and vomiting. I have gone to the Dr. They say nothing is wrong and keep refilling a prescription for pepcid and then send me on my way. I have continued to vomit blood and bile. Has anybody had these symptoms so long after having the weight loss surgery. Thanks for any input.

Is the doctor who keeps prescribing Pepcid the surgeon who performed your panniculectomy?  If so, what does your primary care physician say about this?

That's the problem my Dr was not the surgeon and my Dr does not have experience with patients that have had the surgery. My surgeon is about 2hrs from me.

Can you call the surgeon and run these symptoms by him?

Any history of ulcer or H. pylori infection?

Did your pain meds for your panniculectomy contain NSAIDS?

It is never normal to vomit blood and bile. You need to get a referal to a gastroenterologist ASAP aand ask for a scope to see what is going on. there IS something wrong for suure, and you need to get to the bottom of it.

GL and keep us posted

You must get medical attention immediately.

It's not at all normal to vomit blood.

It's not normal for your stomach to bleed.  You could have an ulcer, an infection, a whole host of things.  If the bleeding gets worse, you can die.  This is not normal.
