6 Months out- is this considered slow loss?
Some people just naturally lose slower than others. I think 76 pounds in any length of time is awesome, personally :)
However, if you're wanting to examine your progress to see if you could improve, a little information would be helpful:
1) what does your surgeon's plan say for calories, carbs, and protein?
2) are you following that plan?
3) are you exercising?
4) are you getting your fluids in?
5) how much sleep are you getting?
6) do you have any medical conditions that may be affecting your metabolism? If so, are you managing them?
Again... I think you're doing great. Those questions are only for you to think about if you think you could, and want to, lose faster. And I really just add them more as a reminder of the importance of staying on plan than as a way of critiquing you, if that makes sense.
Edited to add: keep in mind that this is not supposed to be a race! Ultimately, your body will lose at the rate it needs to lose at, as long as you are doing your part.
Sounds like you're a typical "stair step loser." It's a pattern that is more common in women. It means just what you said... you lose for a couple of weeks, and then nothing, and then lose more, and then nothing.
You really are doing great! If you started a thread about step losing, I bet you'd find you're definitely not alone in that pattern... just know that it's completely normal for some. You'll get there.
