Just 6 days out and started my period?!? I'm on nuvaring and I'm usually super regular. Not due for another couple weeks. Is this normal?

Anesthesia can wreck havoc with your cycle, also the rapid weight lose can make for some major hormonal mood swings.  All the good things will totally out weigh these two minor bad things :)

Good Luck!!!

I got mine 2 days after surgery and again at 2 weeks post op.  Never got it at all at the end of my pill pack like I should have so now I have no idea when to expect it!

I ended up being uber late. Where I used to be like clock work every 28 days, I now start every 6 weeks or so. Your cycles are going to do some pretty weird stuff for a while until your hormones level themselves out.

Your body goes through massive hormonal changes after weight loss surgery, plus the surgery in general is a shock. I was on nuvaring before surgery but had to switch to depo before having surgery. I had irregular bleeding for 9 weeks starting 2 weeks post op, not fun. Thankfully now that the depo is out of my system and I am back on the nuvaring it seems to have re-regulated everything but excessive weight loss can cause irregular bleeding at any time.

I had the Mirena IUD for 3 years before surgery & was lucky for my periods to disappear completely.  After surgery I got them again.  They were light but I got them.  In January I switched to Nexplanon.  It's another IUD with a skinny implant to the arm that is like the size of a toothpick & it's great so far.  But yea, I think a lot of us gals have our bodies & periods go wacko after surgery.

Ok - thanks ladies. I won't worry about it then. I was just thinking "wtf?" Because I've been so super regular all my life. Good to know its normal ;)

I wondered about that too because I have the Mirena IUD too and didn't have a period (which I loved) .  Right after surgery I started getting a period again and this time it last 7 to 10 days!! Before the Mirena my periods were only about 4 days. I long for the days when I don't have to worry about one again.
