Protein coffee makes me feel like I'm on drugs

Well, coffee in general. I used to drink coffee all the time. LOVE Starbucks. I'm a gold card member and get free drinks constantly because I was there all the time. Now, not so much. The last 3 times I have had coffee, I start shaking like a crack addict. I guess half/calf or decaf is in my future. Booo!! I wouldn't think my little Frankentummy would change how my body reacts to caffeine. I shouldn't absorb it any differently. Oh well, such is life. Anyone else caffeine intolerant after surgery?

My apologies Ruggie if my post is repetitive! Hahahaha! Love ya!

Every post is repetitive. There is nothing new under the sun and every issue has been discussed here and on other boards ad nauseum. So we should just google and read all the past stuff and not post about our unique struggles and thoughts at all. Bcoz its just annoying...

That having been said, I also tend to be coffee-less post op. I drink decaf now but mostly have graduated to teas.

Oh I know. I was just poking fun at him and myself.

The only tea I like is iced and sweet. Now what to do with these protein coffee powders I have? Dang!

That's how coffee hits me now as well.  I tried it twice postop and decided it wasn't worth it, not even decaf.  I'm drinking maybe six cups of tea a day now without incident (including some nice Barry's green tea with lemon).

The coffee crack got me too.  I literally shake from the caffeine.  Throws me for a loop because I was a caffeine ***** before surgery.  Decaf for me!

Hi there!

Maybe you are still too earlier out of surgery to be having full caffeine crazy Starbucks coffee.  I remember eating sugar after 5 months & feeling sick.  Maybe it's kinda the same thing.  Maybe it's just too early for coffee.  Sucks I know but maybe if you wait a little it might help.  Take care!

Good point. I'm not sure of the caffeine content of Click, but that's what got me. It was good, but I was wired all day! lol

Thanks, I will take this advise for sure!
