*waves* Been a while....
So it's been a while since I checked in, figured I would give a quick update.
I am almost 21 months out, I have been in maintenance since about six months out. I am currently hanging about 3 lbs out of my normal range, but I am attributing it to my high intensity workouts and crazy training at the moment.
My race schedule is crazy, I did my first 5k of the season the first weekend in April and beat my best race time by almost 6 mins< the weekend after that I completed my first every Spartan Sprint and it was literally the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I trained hard for it and it was still difficult, but so very, very rewarding.
I had this weekend off but did a 10 mile training run just for fun (yeah, I said it, for fun LOL). This coming weekend I have another 5k and the weekend after that I have my first ever half marathon (After what happened in Boston I decided to throw it out on Facebook and challenged someone to sponsor me and I would do it, my amazing surgeon jumped on it and so now I am running it! LOL Be careful what you ask for!).
So still loving life with my sleeve, best decision I have ever made for myself.
Hey Courtney! Great to hear from you. Glad all is going well. Little insomnia tonight, I take it. So sorry.
Glad you're having fun with the running still. Me, I'm still loving the weights an the elliptical. I'm trying to break my 11 minute mile, but without much luck. My little short stubby legs just don't want to move any faster! LOL! So, I just keep making it harder!
Keep doing what you're doing and I hope you are feeling great in all ways!
Big hug!!!!!
I struggled so hard with the 11 min mile, seriously like for months I would JUST get to like a 10:50 and then that was it, then one day I noticed I was getting a little faster, then a little more and now I'm down to an easy 9:30, can get a 9:20 if I am in top form! did my last 5k race in 30:14!
HUGS back, I have missed you guys.
PS - I'm going to be in Cali in October with the SSB for the OH conference! We should see what we can do about a meet up!
Awesome! Love to hear stories like that. I'm headed down the "endurance" cycling path myself with a goal to do a 300km ride in August... I do my first "real" ride on Sunday - 100miles, but I did an 85 mile group ride to prepare a few weeks ago.
Amazing what was under all that fat, eh? Some of us were smothering an athlete :)

Good luck with the Tri - I just can't get into the running part - but cycling speaks to me for some reason that I can't explain. I guess it just "fits" my body somehow, in a way that I couldn't access when I weighed so much.
