Sex on a bike...?

Well, sex seems to get every ones attention so I thought I would throw that out there. Though riding my bike today did kinda feel like I was getting some, but not in a good way.

Soooo, that being said. I bought a bike. First of all the seat is too small and/or I need some of those shorts with the padded crotch. Why? See above. Not comfortable at all! Ouch! Any advise on that?  Second, I did not make it far; I rode for a total of 8-9 minutes and made it about a mile. An amazing 74 calories burned! Hahahaha! Ah well, at least I took the 1st steps. I'm hoping with time to build some stamina  Once I get this down, I'm going to start running. It seems unattainable right now. That short distance on a bike and my legs were jell-o. Wasn't sure that I was going to make it up the steps to my house.

I was thinking about taking a spin class, but now I'm scared! Haha, maybe when I get a little more used to it! I am going to invest in some of those shorts for sure. Not sure how I can keep it up without them!

Great job!  You can get a gel seat cover at Walmart.  My bike have a good cushion so I don't have that problem but my husband had to get a good seat cover which helped tremendously.  You can do this!  Good luck!

I saw some larger and more padded seats at Academy when I was there. I think I will be buying one very soon!

The place I bought my bike will do seat adjustments to help get it right.  Not long after I bought mine, I had to take in back in, and just told the guy that I almost had to marry my bike after the last ride!  And since I'm already married, I'd like to have a relationship that wasn't quite so personal with it!

He laughed and made some adjustments -- but I did go for a wider gel seat, and padded shorts too!

Women's pelvic bones are set wider than men's and bike seats are designed for men. There are women's saddles. If you are willing to purchase a good quality one, it will break in to your bottom- custom made just for you!

You will get used to riding. When I started out, just riding around the block kicked my butt. I went from that to being able to ride around 20 or so miles relatively easily. It took some time and dedicated training. Also, I found riding a road bike was far smoother than my mountain bike.

2 words - Comfort Saddle. My Electra has one and I could ride as long as I liked when I weighed 270. Standard saddles put way too much pressure on sensitive areas and can cause numbness and even nerve damage. (NOT something we're looking for)

For guys too much time on a regular bike saddle can cause numbness and impotence. (More delicately known as erectile dysfunction)

Lol! I did get a gel seat....it helped a lot!  But I may need the shorts, too.  I just kept trying to stand up in the saddle every once in a while to give my, um, jay jay, a break!
