New to this
Fantastic! Best decision I have ever made for myself. Off all medications and am down 95 lbs today. I am still working on all of the head stuff that comes along with this but it has changed my life for the better.
If you are ready to change your lifestyle to a healthier eating habit and deal with your food triggers, then you are ready for this surgery. It will be work but so worth it!
Hi Tiffany,
Welcome to the forum. I started the weight loss surgery process last January, and this forum has been a god-send with so much information, inspiration and encouragement.
I had my surgery on May 1. I've lost over 90 pounds - 50 before surgery and 40 since. It is an adventure. Its not easy, but it is well worth the effort.
best wishes,
Carol

The sleeve was the best decision I have made in my entire life. Well, probably the decision to procreate was the best decision but choosing to live longer is a pretty close second.
I was fat and couldn't lose weight, no matter what I tried. It's only been 3 months since the surgery but I feel like I'm 20 again.
Don't think about it...do it. You won't regret it. Good luck.
800 calories and less than 20 net carbs is the shizzle
What are you afraid of? I'm not going to lie, the surgery hurts a little when you first wake up but they give you drugs pretty quickly and it gets immensely better every day. Most people are off pain meds in a week and then it's just a little soreness for another week. For most, there aren't any complications at all. For the few, the complications are manageable. If you do everything they tell you to do, your success rate will be better.
The pre-op diet kind of sucks but you get used to it in about three days. The new way of eating post-op isn't all that hard. The weight loss is amazing and it's a hell of a journey.
You have to make the decision that you are tired of being fat and take the plunge. Once you admit to yourself you are not happy being fat, the journey is pretty easy. Be sure to pick a surgeon that is a Bariatric Center of Excellence and you will do fine.

Congrats on starting to explore your options!
I had surgery 6 1/2 weeks ago and I feel great! Although it may not be typical, I had minimal pain after surgery, have not struggled with water or eating food at each stage of the plan, and haven't dealt with loss of energy issues. I'm VERY happy with my decision to have the surgery.... but it definitely is overwhelming! It is a drastic change, but for many people that work the tool properly, it's a life changer/saver!
