I am 13 days post op now and I seem to be so very weepy.  My husband just stares at me and has no idea what to do.  I am not really sure where it is coming from... well, actually I could list several things probably but still...... anyone else feel like this and if so, how long did it last?  I got this way after each pregnancy/delivery too.... BTW I am also on Zoloft every day, so you would think that would keep me even unless maybe it does not metabolize correctly????

Thanks in advance, Beth

My surgery is tomorrow and I've been warned that this will likely happen to me (I have had PMDD for years). With your body dropping weight so rapidly, your hormones are completely Out. Of. Whack. Things should level off soon once the rapid weight loss slows down. If it becomes unbearable, talk to your surgeon. They will likely refer you to your gyn, who will likely Rx birth control or a mild anti-depressant.

You're normal. Best of luck

Good Luck tomorrow!  I will be thinking of you.  I am already on an anti-depressant..... maybe I need a higher dose.  :-)

Maybe so. Or a different one?

And thanks! I'm excited to be on the other side at last!

I was weepy too. Greek yogurt made me cry. The wind made me cry. My doctor said the same thing. Rapid weight loss throws hormones all over the place. When I had big drops in weight I would get weepy for a day or two. Hang in there!

Hi, Beth -- It's very normal to have your emotions run rampant postop.  It settles down after a few weeks.  Hang in there!

Totally Normal!

I got so bad, that if my fiance left the room, I would have a panic attack.  My PCP put me on lorazapan for Post Traumatic Stress (I had some pretty bad complications that put me in ICU).  After about 4-5 weeks I was better.  My family was great and made sure I had someone with me at all times to help my anxiety/stress/depression.

This will pass.  it might feel awful, but the light at the end of the tunnel is sooo worth it!

Thank you so very much!  I know what you mean about the being alone, but on the other hand, I can't relax when everyone is around, lol.   ~Beth
