How do you add people to My Fitness Pal??

I've tried to add people but it asks if I want to add from my contacts or FB. I don't get it, since they aren't in my contacts and I don't want to go through FB. Please help! Thanks : )

I click on the Community Tab, then below that I click on Find Friends. There is a box for username or email addy and I put the username in there and add.

I don't see a community tab. I'm looking at it from my phone though, does that make a difference?

On the phone app it's friends > friends > add friend > email. From there you can just put in the username.
