How long did you take off from work?

If you've had your surgery already, how long before you were able to return to work?   Thank you! 

I took 3 weeks off. I didn't need more time. My mother in law had this done also she took 4 weeks off she was so ready to go back to work. I think 3 weeks is perfect.

My LOA is for 4 weeks but I'm planning on going back after two weeks. I have a desk job so it's either sit at home or sit at work.

I was lucky and got the exact surgery date I planned for on 6/19.  That allowed me to take the rest of June off, about a week and and half, then work from home for 3 days before July 4th break, then returned to work after a long July 4th weekend.

All in it was 2 and 1/2 weeks because those 3 days at home weren't really busy, mostly checking on emails.

I do recommend the two weeks (which was my doctor's recommendation) but was very mobile after only a few days.  The real reason for the extended time was to focus and deal with the diet revisions following surgery.  That's much easier without work distractions.

PS: My job does not require much manual efforts.  Any that does would require more care.

My surgery was on a Wednesday and I was back to work Monday morning. I have a desk job so no lifting. I would have been totally bored at home. LOL! I even went out shopping the weekend after my surgery.
