Books and blogs
I am considering having the VSG done. I love to read and have found this forum to be fantastic but I'm looking for books and blogs as well.
I've ordered Dr. Alvarez's The Gastric Sleeve and Jen Larson's Stranger Here: How Weight-Loss Surgery Transformed My Body and Messed with My Head. Any other books or blogs that have helped you along the way? Thank you!
There's one called "Losing It" by Anne Andrews. It's more autobiographical, but informative nonetheless.

I blog about my experiences so far! Here's my site: http://laguerradelagorda.com
Another book you might want to consider that my therapist recommended to me is Judith Beck's The Beck Diet Solution. It's a good book that helps you examine the behaviors behind why you eat.
Good luck as you pursue your path to better health!
VSG by Nick Nicholson in 2013. Revised to DS 2/23/2023 by Chad Carlton.

Weight loss surgery for dummies is excellent, anything you want to know and more and it's a great reference book. Any question you can imagine having and recipes as well.
My favorite books are not about the surgery but more about the food we eat. They helped me in a big big way prior to surgery and now post surgery...they are:
Fat Chance (author, Lustig) This book helped me understand metabolic syndrome and the toxic nature of processed sugars.
Salt, Sugar, Fat (author, Moss) This one does not deal with obesity head on, but made me so damned mad at the food companies that I now avoid most of their products like the plague.
I also found documentaries helpful...these are on netflix: Hungry for Change, Killer at Large, and Food Inc.
Good luck!
