I drink plenty of water. I also eat beans. Thankfully, I haven't had bowel issues post-op...I have a BM nearly every day.

Large pitted fruit is what the doctor told me. Along with beans, including green beans. And lots and lots of water.

I rinse and mash canned black beans. Bush's are the best for mashing. I am still in the soft food stage.

Haven't had any constipation issues and I attribute that to the beans.

My NUT said if no BM for 3 days..time for the Milk of Magnesia.

Hello, I have had a horrible time with this.  I think some people have it worse than others.  I have heard from other VSGrs that beans work, but not so much for me.  I find if I quit eating the steak, chicken, hard stuff and eat the softer protein it is better for me.  I'm going to pick up some dried prunes also.  I try to use the miralax every other day because I just have to.  Good luck to you!

I used to never have problems with constipation but now it's becoming a tussel.  I have found that miralax is gentle but productive.  Of course, I just started soft foods a week ago and my stomach has finally went down from some swelling that I can drink more water to help the issue too.  Also, exercise is important (which I couldn't get a lot of til now too).  I would just use some Miralax maybe every few days for a bit...it shouldn't hurt you to do and really focus on increase fluids and a bit of exercise are my suggestions.

Fermented veggies like sauerkraut, but not the grocery store kind, the real stuff with live active cultures.

I've had issues with this ever since I started the pre-op diet. Was has worked best so far is 2x colace each day. My NUT says this is very appropriate in the early stages.
