This weekend not only did I reach my surgeons 170lb goal, but surpassed it to 169.4.

Freaking amazing!! I feel amazing!

Just a short note to all those who are thinking about VSG, it changed my life and I am soooo glad that I took the leap of faith and did it.

I will post some Before and After's but have some pix in my profile!

Congratulations on reaching your goal! That is wonderful!!!

Do you have a question about what to do now?

Not really.

But I feel like I have been struggling and working so hard to get to this point.

Is it as difficult to stay at goal or just getting there?

I found getting to goal was the easy part. Maintenance has been much trickier for me. I would recommend that you carefully add only a few calories back at a time (say 100 per day a week at a time****il you find your true maintenance point.

I allowed some crap food back in on occasion and that was not a wise choice for me.

There also seems to be a bounce back phenomenon that some people go through. not everyone, but quite a few that I know have gained back 5 - 10  pounds with relative ease because they relax too much on tracking and on choices.

My advice is to stay vigilant.

I don't know about you but the first time I hit goal balloons dropped on my head it was surreal =)  I can only imagine what'll happen when I reach it again =)

I have added about 700 cal more than what  I was doing before maintenance, however I also work out at the gym 5-6 days a week, I did 18 miles in spinning class tonight . It does take more effort and adjusting but you will be fine. Just remember that it is just that a tool. If you slip just remember how far you have come... good luck angry
