9 years later... [Edit Post]

It's been far too long since I've posted. On Nov 2nd I celebrated my 9 year post op anniversary. It's so hard to believe how quickly time has passed. As of today I actually weigh less than I ever have! I hit an all time low of 148 but seem to hold steady at about 153. I have continued to keep my max weight restriction at 165 lbs. as anything above that seems too close to 200 lbs! There is really no explanation for the additional weight loss it just happened. Only thing I can chalk it up to is being happily in love! :)
With all of my weight loss I had always hoped to have plastic surgery but unfortunately that just isn't in the budget. I still won't wear a bathing suit in public or show my arms but it's a small price to pay for the self confidence I feel otherwise having the weight off. I still believe that Dr. Jossart is a true Super Hero and I will forever be grateful to him for changing my life. I recently had a friend undergo WLS and it has been a joy to watch her progress. I show as much support as possible and am always available for any questions she has. I get such an overwhelming rush when I talk about my journey and love the responses I get in disbelief that I was ever over 300 lbs. I am still very much an advocate for plus sized people and will not tolerate any negative comments in my presence. I own a hair salon and the only rule we have is no "F" word...clients are confused when they refer to themselves fat and I promptly say "we don't say the "F" word here"... they usually say "I didn't cuss" for which I follow up with "Oh no, you can cuss all you want but you MAY NOT use the word 'fat'". IT's the RULE! I instilled it in my son at a young age so he will even correct people. One of my fondest memories was my son saying "Mommy look at that plus sized bird". .. it was awesome!
With all of that being said, I am feel blessed everyday to have maintained my weight loss and encourage anyone who is entertaining the idea of having it to DO IT! It will be the best gift you could ever give yourself!
