Need some help, I'm 5 days post op and I always feel full/ nauseous. I'm barely getting my protein and liquids in because I feel stuffed all the time. Even when I first wake up in the morning. HELP, what can I do?

I was sleeved on the 17th, my dr.'s instructions were to worry about getting in the fluids.  He said not to worry about protein right now.

I would guess your stomach is swollen and it will get easier with time.  I found warm chicken broth the easiest to drink.  I'd mix in a scoop of unflavored protein powder, so I got my protein at the same time.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!  You'll be so happy when the weight starts falling.

You just had your stomach cut in half...it's going to take a while to heal.  I'm pretty sure you are feeling the swelling.  Just try and sip a****er as much as possible.  Being hydrated will help your body heal.  If you are getting dehydrated.  Signs being nausea, dark coloured urine, sunken eyes then go to your local ER for IV therapy.  Dehydration is dangerous and you need to stay on top of it so you can heal.

God bless,

Hi all-

i am three days post op and get nervous because I can get the liquid and protein down pretty easily.   On a few occasions I have had too much too fast and I can feel it midway but walking around solves that.

I am definitely not hungry which I know I would have been pre surgery but I am hoping my new stomach will do it's job...especially as we transition into solids.

Might sound crazy but... Are you passing gas?  That helped me and walking!  Good luck!!

Thanks everyone! Hope this isn't TMI but after passing somegas today I actually do feel better. I also switched from cold liquids to warm liquids and found the warm liquids go down much better.
