Which protein brand can be microwaved?  Or added to hot soup ? I tried with Unjury yesterday an it turned to gross cottage cheese lol (their chicken soup flavor )... Any suggestions ? I'm starting my preop diet on Feb 17 ....so I like to have some hot soup with protein.   Thanks !

Anything over 140 degress changes the structure of the protein and makes it awful.  I use a temperature thermometer to make sure what I'm mixing it with isn't over 140 degrees.

I too have heard 140 is the magic number so cooking your soup first and then waiting until it cools to 140 to add your protein is a better way to go. Another thing someone told me but I have yet to try is to mix the protein with just enough room temp water to 'disolve' it and THEN add it to a hot beverage or soup. I haven't tried it yet (I live in So Cal and we have been having a warm winter) but it may be worth a try :)

I usually mix my protein with water/soup/tea and then microwave. Every 30 seconds or so i take it out and give it a good stir. I repeat until hot enough but not curdled.

I used to heat up chicken broth in the microwave, then I used a kitchen thermometer to make use it was less than 140 degrees.  After is cooled to a good spot I mixed in the chicken flavored Unjury protein powder.  Never had any problems with that method.

I found a magic trick.

Blend protein in small amount of room temp liquid.

Then I use an immersion or stick blender while adding the ho****er

I make protein coffee like this every day. I can hea****er to boiling and as long as I mix it constantly while adding the water I get no nastiness.

I can't remember who gave me the idea but I read it here somewhere and it works like a charm
