Hi everyone.

I just found out I am at most 2 months away from surgery. I more visit with my nutritionist and a letter from my pcp and I will have completed all of my requirements to be submitted to my insurance. So excited! I was looking into wls 5 years and 100 pounds ago. Lost a few pounds and thought I could just do it on my own. Well, fast forward to now, and I have a 1 year old daughter motivating me more than ever. I am ready to start living again. I want to be a great role model for my little one.

Very grateful to find this forum. I've been stalking for a while and decided it was time to say hi.

I would love any words of wisdom, lessons learned, advice, or encouragement you want to offer:)

Hi Kelly, welcome! I was sleeved on January 22nd and although it was rough at first, I have no regrets now. My advice as a newbie is to take things slow and follow the vets' advice. They definitely know what they're talking about!

best of luck on this crazy journey!

Welcome Kelly,

My best advice is get a good therapist and deal with why you eat.  Those issues aren't covered by surgery ;)

Good luck on your journey!

Hi Kelly and welcome. You will have your ups and downs but it is all so worth it in the end! I had some down times but still never once regretted this surgery. I also put WLS aside for almst 2 yrs thinking I cld do it myself but needed this tool in the end and it works. Take it one day at a time and you will have more energy and confidence to be there for your daughter. I wish you the best!

hi!  I am getting sleeved in a couple weeks.  I have a 22mo and a 3.5 yo...I'm doing this to be a better mom for them.   Good luck in the home stretch.  Time has flown since I got my surgery date, I can't wait to get things going.
