Two funny NSFs. Ok, maybe not so funny. Well, funny if your sense of humor is weird.

NSF = Non-scale fail, as in, unintended and not necessarily positive side effect of weight loss.

1. My hip bones are beginning to stick out more, which makes the bed really uncomfortable. I used to love my bed. Now it feels really stiff, and my legs keep falling asleep. I keep wondering if I'm going to need a new mattress eventually. This one really sucks and I just noticed it.

2. Another sleep related problem. Apparently I stopped snoring. This is a good thing - until your husband wakes up in the middle of the night and thinks you have died because you breathe so quiet now. I think I took 5 years off his life span just last night, poor guy. Scared him silly.

So yeah, they're kinda funny. But also kinda not.

As an aside, Dear Body: There is fat on your tummy, too. We, the management, are ecstatic that our limbs, neck and collarbones are becoming more defined, but we would very much appreciate it if you could shave a few inches off the midsection. It is preventing us from dragging the next smallest size of jeans out of the closet and being able to wear them again, along with the nice tops that mum-in-law was so thoughtful to get us, and quite frankly, the current jeans are starting to look a bit ridiculous.

I love the snoring NSV. Hilarious.  My bed has gotten 'harder' too :[

I may have had sleep apnea. My heart rate has dropped greatly in the past 3 weeks, and my BP as well. They didn't do a sleep study on me pre-op. I suppose it's a moot point now. My poor husband. He's not used to my "new" sleep habits yet.

I wonder if you and I may need to replace our beds eventually. That's so expensive. But I can really tell this week that my bones are starting to come out. In other news: I have bones! I am not, in fact, a butter golem!

Yeah, I was actually looking into replacing mine a couple weeks ago since it's almost 10 years old and seen better days, but it is expensive and will have to wait a bit longer.

It's exciting to be discovering all the parts that were buried inside of me. My butt can't take a hard chair as long as it used to be able to, either.

I realize now that I missed an opportunity to make that my user name. I am ashamed.

I enjoyed your post...Got a kick out of it!  I am waiting for my bones to show...get a pillow top that you can add to your current mattress.  Maybe that will help.

Good luck..

That's the sad part... it's a Euro top!

This is embarrassing to admit, but hubby and I are both big folks, and I think we've mashed the poor thing flat over the years. It used to be very soft and poofy. Now it's just really flat and dented in the middle, and because it's a Euro top, can't be flipped. This is the last time I'm ever buying one of those things.

Hubby has gotten so heavy that when we lie in bed, he creates a "gravity well" that I roll into. I'm looking into other types of bed options for our next purchase. A friend of mine and her hubs actually sleep on separate mattresses, pushed together, to avoid the gravity well effect.

I have a tempurpedic (sp?) that I just love.  It squishes to accomidate my bones.  And it feels great to be sleeping on my stomach again!
