1 week post op!
Hey all! So I was sleeved last week and all went well! I've lost 24lbs in the 7 days since. Haven't had trouble getting liquids in but I keep forgetting so I'm a tad dehydrated. Started on purée foods today. Pretty uncomfortable so far even after a few tiny bites. I've been doing well on protein shakes using the lean shake 25's. Any tips for the purée stage would be awesome! Thanks all!!!
Stay hydrated! It's somewhat of a PIA because you have to sip an ounce or two at a time at the beginning, but it'll keep you out of the hospital. I didn't go pureed foods until 4 weeks out so I'm in agreement with the backing off the pureeds and sticking to full liquids like strained soup, broth, protein drinks. Your stomach really needs to heal. If you are uncomfortable you need to listen to what it's telling you even if your surgeon ok'd you for puree's.
Congrats on the 24 lbs in a week..holy cow..that's a huge amount
Same here, 1 week post op Monday and down 21. My surgeon has me following 4 stages of diets, each for a week. Last week was total clear liquids. 1 oz of protein shake made with water every other hour with 3-6 ozs of other clear liquids every other in between the shake.
This week it is all liquid diet still but doesn't need to be clear. So I'm back to using my Premier Protein shakes, a few ozs here and there in between 3-4 mini meals of 2 ozs. And of course lots of liquid in between. Anyone doing the 30/30 plan, stop drinking 30 minutes before eating and no drinking for 30 minutes afterwards?
Congrats on your 24 lbs of success. Maybe 25 by the time you read this!

I'll be doing the 30/30 plan, but not until I hit purees.
