NSV at 7 months post-op
I was at the doctor's office and the nurse switched out the blood pressure cuff from the XLarge size to the regular adult size....I was thinking, 'oh man, why would she do that...she knows I'm going to need the XLarge cuff'.... and I even said, "usually they have to use the larger size"...she just smiled and went on with the regular cuff. It fit perfect with plenty of room to spare!!! It was a moment where my 'image' of self was challenged and I liked the result! Also, the blood pressure is way better than what it used to be! Likin' it!
Non Scale Victory.
Scale Victories are based on the numbers your scale shows you. So to loose 100 lbs and join the Century Club would be a scale victory.
Non Scale Victory are those "hurrah!" moments when you find that things have changed for the better! Being able to fit in a particular chair, or wrapping a towel all the way around yourself, or fitting into size 10 clothing, or whatever. These are not based on the numbers on the scale but on how you feel in your own skin and can handle things that might have been more challenging when obese.
Both SVs and NSVs are wonderful things on these forums! And this NSV is a great one! It'll be nice if/when I get to the point when my doc can use a regular BP cuff on me too! Congrats!
