Ibuprofen
I am out of town and away from my do's and don'ts list from my doc... Can someone tell me if ibuprofen is ok? I took my kids to an amusement park for the past three days (fit on all the rides) and My muscles ache. I carried my sleeping 5yo all the way out of the park! I haven't needed any medication since my surgey... Ibuprofen is the only thing we have with us. If it is a no go, I will just deal with it! THANKS!
Ibuprofen is an NSAID and NSAIDs are only NOT allowed for RNY patients. One of the selling points of VSG is ability to take NSAIDs.
If you have a history of ulcers due to NSAID use, you should skip the Ibuprofen but, otherwise, you should be fine with it.

I was allowed after 1 month , nsaid stop your stomach from producing a protective mucus to protect the stomach lining from acid which might course a ulcer taking it a few times will not hurt you, if you need it long term talk to your surgeon , you might need to add a stronger ppi, or stomach protector
That's the best explanation of why I was told to avoid NSAIDs that I've received from anyone- including my surgeon. Thank you!
