Post op supplements
The ASMBS says that you should be able to swallow pills post op, but individual experience and surgeon recommendation will vary, of course. So check with your surgeon. I started taking pills with no problem two weeks post op. I take the following:
#1 Nexium, birth control pill, Actigall, Multi, Calcium, Vitamin D, B-12 (every other day)
#2 Calcium, Vitamin K
#3 Actigall, Multi, Calcium, Vitamin D
#4 Iron, Vitamin C

And calcium, as in calcium CITRATE, not carbonate. Very important distinction.
I also take B1, no Vitamin K since it's in my multi.

My doctor has me on Wellesse liquid multi, iron, b complex and calcium+d. They are gross, but they get the job done. I also take a ppi, but I open the cap and take it that way. I am able to swallow pills but this has just been easier and I've been on them since surgery.

I was looking at the Wellesse nutritional info, and the multi seems to be missing a lot of important things - like all of the minerals we need!

Oh really? Thanks for the info! When I went to buy my supplements I was planning on buying another brand in chewable but they told me I had to use liquid so that's just what I bought. I only have about 10 days left though and I'm going to buy something else. I'll look into it more before I do. Thanks :)

You're welcome! It's pretty crazy how many options there are out there - and how everyone seems to take/recommend different things!
