Back handed compliment?
So as I was walking out of my room, dressed for the day my son came up to me and said
"Mom, why are you always so dressed up now?"
I said " I'm not dressed up I'm justed dressed,
this is how I dress now, no more shlubby clothes only when I'm in PJs"
i don't dress up or fancy at all although, it made me realize how frumpy and dowdy
I must have looked in the past that a small child sees the difference..
but hey let's face it, I now have such an array to choose from
whereas before, if it fit with room and didn't make my bubba belly
look even worse then it was, I wore it...
I am sure what you have fits and looks nice every day. I no longer have years' worth of clothes in my closet and dresser. My choices are what currently fits and most of those clothes are new or at least new to me from a friend who was sleeved. When I was heavier I often bought the same thing, pants or shirts, same style- different colors. It's a whole new day for us. Hooray!
"Same style- different colors."
YES. It is a habit that I am still trying to break!

It's interesting to me to see how people are reacting to how I dress now. One friend asked me the other day why I always dress so "fancy" now! She wasn't AT ALL being rude, but it made me realize just how badly I must have been dressing pre op. Even this morning, I came downstairs in a new pair of skinny, ankle-length pants (light camouflage print!) and a black tank top, and my mother's first reaction was, "What are you so dressed up for?" I just laughed and said, "My jeans are stretched out and sliding off, and I need to do laundry!"
