So I'm here at the drs office for my 6 wk appt. The dietician just told me that the Dr has my goal weight as 175 lbs. Well that's definitely not enough for me, but it's a start. She said even though I haven't lostmuch that I'm right on track. She said they aim for about 10 lbs a month. So yay me!!! Now waiting on the PA to release mms for full exercise..... can't wait till Dr Strickland sees me next visit.

Congrats on having a good visit.  10 lbs a month seems low to me--and it looks like you're on track for 20+.  What kind of eating plan does your surgeon recommend?  Is he one of the ones that only expects 65% EWL?

yes, He is on of the one's that only expect 65% EWL. I just got my expected goal weight yesterday. He expects me to be around 175. well, the dietician said that the plan is 3 portioned sized meals a day and 2 sinsible snacks. With eating green veggies 2x a day , once for lunch and dinner. SO, i'm still looking for nutrition help with this too.

My doctor recommends the stricter under 800 calories, 70 grams of protein, under 40 carb plan, and states that if patients follow it there is no reason we can't reach 100% EWL.  From what I've seen, the posters on here who follow it reach goal.  That being said, I am not perfect, and while I try to follow the plan, I tend to have more carbs and less protein than I should.
