Is it just me?

I realize I am probably giving out way too much information, but something has been happening to me and I'm curious if it is happening to anyone else. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I always do is step on the scale, then I take a shower. Well, the last couple of weeks I have been stepping back on the scale after I get out of the shower and I'm magically half a pound to a full pound lighter. Now, I know some comedians out there will say "you must be really dirty" and I assure you that's not the case. I just wonder am I the only one that this happens too.

I always weigh about 1/2 lb less about 1/2 hour after I first wake up.  I don't know why.

Intellectually, we know that a shower does not burn off 1/2 or more pound--but what fun to step on a scale and see it go down!  The important thing to remember for me, anyway, is that I used to manipulate the scale readings--and use them sometimes to justify how I felt about my self on a daily basis, etc...excuse to eat (well, I've been good, so why isn't the scale rewarding me?,,,or, I've been bad, guess I got away with it, and can  continue the poor eating.  I'm trying to have a healthy relationship with the scales.  It's just a measuring tool, and helps me stay accountable.  Whatever time you choose, stick with that time as the weight for the day, and don't give the scales more power to jack with your mind or emotions anymore than you have to...they can befickle  darned things.  Smiles your way, today,  Bonnie

Oh boy, that used to be me, too! Honestly, if I have a bad day and it doesn't show up on the scale I'm always a little relieved, but I have had to stop the thinking that I got away with it because that leads to more poor eating for me.

Like you I weigh at the exact same time each day. I use it as a daily tool to help me stay on track and keep me accountable. I own my weight - whether it's one I am happy with, or not. I'm learning that it's just a number and has no other value. For years my self worth was connected to that number on the scale. Now it's more of a tool to help me gauge where I am on my personal health continuum. Much easier to live with now.
