When is it ok to start oral vitamins??
Hello!!
I am 8 months out. I have an apt for my 9month check up, but wondering when people got the ok to start taking regular multi vitamins? I am still on the bariatric chewable. I can't stand the thought of putting another one in my mouth!! :) I have tried some of the children vitamins also. I just can't tolerate them anymore. I am going to ask at my next apt, but wanted to get a general idea.
thanks for the help!!
Renee
The ASMBS says that we can swallow pills from day 1. My surgeon wanted me to wait for 6 weeks to take pills and to take chewables for the first 3 months.
So, in my non-professional opinion, you should be good to go now.

I was taking pills the day I got home from the hospital , but my nut prefers chewables , says they are digested better with our small stomachs I use Kirkland(Cost****ids chewable
but I take regular calcium citrate from Walmart
I was required to wait 6 weeks before I was allowed to take whole pills. When I got the okay, I chugged my pills down all at once (and there were a lot of them).
