A few weeks ago I posted about all my issues with my root canal (which didn't end there), a year after my marriage ended (cheating jerk), and the absolute worse...My bariatric center tells me they no longer have hospital access where my surgery was supposed to be...no surgery in sight although I completed all the requirements for insurance...

Fast forward to today and I have met my brand new surgeon, Dr. Michael Lee, director of Bariatric Surgery at UT Southwestern in Dallas. I cancelled the previous center's EGD. My current recommended a TNE (transnasal endoscopy) that they do right in the office with a little lidocaine instead of putting you. They put the tube through your nostril, down your throat (with help from a swallow of water), through the esophagus, and into your stomach. Thankfully the band hasn't screwed me up and all looked well. After my visit this Wednesday, they send it all to insurance and hopefully be scheduled for surgery in July. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you Miss150! You guys really helped me realize one bad day wasn't enough to give up. I dusted myself off and realized that the original surgeon was not right for me. Just glad I could get good news so quickly.

Thanks guys! Going down my nose really wasn't that bad. Really just felt like I go****er in my nose while swimming for a few hours. They tell you to keep your eyes closed the whole time too. My surgeon also told me that this is their preferred method since it reduces the risk of getting things in your lungs during the procedure. He said when you are awake, your body instinctively closes the flap over your lungs & that doesn't always happen when you are under. Plus, it was nice that they do it right in their office and I didn't have to miss work (saving pto for surgery). I went straight to work after. :) It was really cool to see all the videos/pics right after too. He even showed me from the inside of my stomach where my lap band is located that is coming out!! I'm just so excited to be moving in the right direction.
