How long do gas pains last?

I was sleeved yesterday and have had gas pains in my left shoulder and the middle of my chest following the sternum. The chest pain is much worse. It can get a little intense at times but comes and goes randomly. I have been walking a lot, hydrated through IV fluids (nothing by mouth yet) and I've used gas-x strips. When will this annoying pain go away?

I know everyone's different, but mine lasted about 24-36 hours. It's the worst! Yuck.

A few days. Walking,  gasx, and a hot compress helps.

Mine lasted about 4 days I think...my Doctor advised me to only take simethicone gas infant drops & not gas-x pills I didn't think to ask about the strips but I'm sure they're fine BUT; check with your Doc about this.  It will pass, continue with your walking which will work it out.  This gas pain you feel is from any surgery that is done from where they fill you up to move things around.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery & no more pain.
