My first post-op meal!

I'm 8 days out and went for my post op appointment. I was cleared for "fork mashable" food. I came home and made 1/4 cup of fat free refried beans with shredded cheese. First of all...Hilarious that I actually thought I could eat that much! However I have to say that it was the best tasting 3 bites of food I can remember EVER having lol. My mom was with me and laughed saying," You could eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I still don't think you'd finish that."

Five weeks out I still make a plate of food and think it won't be enough and can't finish....

It will definitely take some getting used to! I've got to say I'm loving my sleeve today

I eat the Kroger carbmaster yogurt and it comes in a 6oz container. I'm able to eat the whole 6oz over about a 20-30 minute sitting. I love the Black Forest cake!

Even all the research I did pre-op and all the reading I've done on here, I still wasn't prepared for how good it feels to feel more than satisfied on such a small amount of food.

I am eagerly awaiting the day I can eat real food, but in mush/puree form. My doc's plan is 3 weeks full liquids plus protein shakes...I am on day 8 post op as well..only 13 more days! Then its 2 weeks of mushy and then soft solids for 3 weeks followed by my new normal food.

I have no clue what my first mushy food will be yet...might be pureed lentil soup!

I thought it seemed really soon to switch to mushies, I'm still going to stick to my premier protein shakes for the bulk of my meals. I feel safer with those. You'll have to keep me posted when you decide your first mushie meal :)
