A little background.. I have pretty bad allergies, like to every plant, tree, animal, dust etc in varying degrees.. And I get 3 shots a week to maintain it.

I tried whey protein tonight for the first time and have sneezed only once, but am feeling super itchy on my face, ears, and arms. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi. There is a whey protein out there called superior protein which has the highest quality of whey. As I write this I recall that my friend has a whey allergy and drinks soy protein. Not as nutrient dense, it does seem to help. Good luck! We're all here to support you!

Thank you! It seems I have no problems with my pre-made shakes with soy & milk protein so maybe I'll have to stick to those...

No allergies to eggs.. Or milk. I've never been lactose intolerant or anything. I guess it's just the whey.

GNC has an egg based protein that my NUT says is good.

Yes. I had to try a couple different brands before I found some I could tolerate. Whey protein isolate seemed to be the culprit, but not other forms of whey, which is weird because the isolate is supposed to be "the best." I bought a bunch of samples at our local health food store and kept a spreadsheet of what didn't give me a reaction and what I liked. I've since read that whey protein varies greatly even if it has the same ingredients on the package so that's why you need to try different brands.

Good to know I'm not alone! The spreadsheet idea is great. This one was a packet of Jay Robb's chocolate whey protein. Unfortunately I bought a vanilla & strawberry that I will have to trash. Next time I'll buy one flavor, check for allergies and taste, then try other flavors.
