Day 3 of soft foods - how much?

Hi everyone,

day 3 on softs. Going pretty well, but not sure how much I should eat at a meal. I think I found the sensation to stop, a burp, but I want to stop before then. I want to undereat my sleeve, but I think it's hard to gauge during this part of the process.

For lunch I had 2/3 cup puréed soup. For dinner it had about a half a cup of the ricotta bake from EggFace. After dinner I stood up and got a sharp pain below my breastbone, and now I feel a little uncomfortable. Nothing major, just burpy and "full".

any advice for softs would be appreciated!

thanks,

Taryn

I measured out 2 ounces in little cups. That's 1/4 cup.

I'm on day 2. Been eating 1/4 cup and feeling comfortable, full but not stuffed.

I'm with Gwen- I did 1/4 cup too per my NUT's instructions. If you are trying that and don't feel satisfied, maybe contact your NUT or surgeon. It is possible you have a bigger sleeve and that isn't enough. It could also depend on what kind of food it is. Do you notice that some foods leave you more satisfied than others?

Well. To be honest I needed to hear what others were doing and be more careful with my measuring.

I know that when it's solids, try an ounce or two. But soup and yogurt....I wasn't sure.

Ill start trying 1/4 cup  more diligently and asking myself if I've had enough.

Thanks for the reply!

At that point, I was only able to handle 1/4 cup or 2 ounces at the most, eating VERY slowly.  Depending on what you eat on your soft diet, you may not even be able to tolerate that much.  Good luck!
