I love OH!!!!!!! Every time a negative voice plants itself in my head someone posts something that just KICKS ITS ASS!!!!! When I thought of having the surgery I envisioned myself being very athletic because I loved sports as a kid. Then, a voice in my head started saying "what sort of garbage are you thinking! you're 50!" It really had me thinking I was just kidding myself. Then, Tom comes along looking all bad ass and coming in 1st! I can do anything! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!
That's why I went to cycling - when I was a kid, I lived on a bike in the summer - it wasn't exercise, it was FUN! Then I got a car and dumped the bike... but post-surgery, I thought cycling would be sustainable because it was just a fun thing from childhood. I admire people who can get themselves to the gym, which I've done... but I find it far easier to go when there's more of a purpose behind it - when I'm training for "something" and the results are put to use.
There are so many activities now, and so many are grouped into age categories - you can socialize with and compete against (if competition is your thing) people your own age...
