First Victory.... Pre-Op
Thanks to some great advice, I downloaded MFP. First couple days were huge eye openers! It is amazing what we put in our mouths. Especially, what is perceived amongst most of us as "healthy" foods.
I seen initially it was nothing to pack in 3500-4000 calories. I set a modest daily goal of 1800 calories. I know I should probably do 1200, but for me this is a start. Although the first few days I was over budget on the calories, each day got better and better. Yesterday I finished 50 calories under goal! Now I know this is probably nothing to shout to the ends of the earth about, but for me this is one small step to the ultimate goal.
I ordered the sample packs of Unjury and got those yesterday. So far the Chocolate Splendor is awesome, and the unflavored goes nicely with Slim Fast Chocolate Royale. Can't wait to give the Chicken Soup flavor a try.
I have a consult August 25th and hoping to have my surgery around November when I get vacation time for work. With continued determination, I believe I can easily achieve 40+ pounds lost before I even begin the actual pre-op diet.

Good for you! Unjury is my favorite and I use the Chocolate Splendor to make fudgsicles and protein ice cream (theworldaccordingtoeggface.com has lots of great protein ice cream recipes).
The chicken soup is tasty in the fall and winter or if your new tummy just can't handle cold liquids.
You're doing well and on the road to success - keep up the great work!
congrats, I was also surprised as to the calorie amount I was in taking.. YIKES!!!

Good for you! I think the earlier we become self-aware of our behaviors prior to surgery, the better prepared we are to fight the battles ahead
